It has been a busy couple of weeks. As often seems to be the case – I have a tonne of things I am trying to accomplish simultaneously. I had imagined a certain leisurely pace existed somewhere – but I am realizing that is not a reality in my near future. I had imagined a time when I would add more to this initial post – but thus far I have not found that time. One thing I am learning (and relearning) is that sometimes the pace chooses me. So… I am publishing this as it is… as it was written on Friday April 13, 2012:
A wonderful day!
A two-thumbs-up, 10/10, five star, awesome kind of day!!
I spent the day with the Fabulous Laura Nagle and to use her word, it was a snarfly day. Amongst other things, we talked of acceptance and understanding, and neurodiversity, and basoliths, and Percival Lowell the discoverer of Pluto. Oh yes… we talked endlessly about autism as well… but I sometimes expect that that is just a given for me.
Tonight the was the premier of the film Vectors of Autism: a documentary about Laura Nagle… and I do intend to write more about it. In that longer story I will share how excited I am to be a part of this project, and how my efforts to support it as a blogger from Canada – somehow evolved so that I ended up as the co-producer of this amazing film. However it is late and I am presenting tomorrow at the Northern Arizona ASA Conference!
Let me just say this about the documentary:
I thought it would be good…
I hoped it would be amazing…
It was SPECTACULAR!!!
30 Days of Autism is a project designed to promote social understanding and offer a glimpse into the perspectives of those whose lives are touched by Autism.
